Avistar (www.avistar.com) has introduced three new solutions for Lotus Sametime users at IBM’s Lotusphere conference. These include:

  • Avistar C3 Conference for IBM Lotus Sametime provides Lotus Sametime users with the ability to conduct continuous presence multiparty videoconferences and connect with standards-based third-party room systems at a fraction of the cost of traditional hardware-based MCU solutions. The solution is integrated via IBM’s TCSPI interface and was developed in cooperation with ilink, an experienced integrator of IBM Lotus solutions.
  •  Avistar C3 Unified™ for IBM Lotus Sametime plugs into Lotus Sametime and delivers an HD-capable videoconferencing experience that is interoperable with both SIP- and H.323-based room conferencing systems.
  • Avistar C3 Integrator enables the Avistar C3 Unified for IBM Lotus Sametime solution to work seamlessly within virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) or on thin terminals without affecting network performance and/or server scalability.

Stephen Epstein, CMO at Avistar, said, “Avistar delivers high quality, scalable and standards-based ‘all-software’ solutions that unify the desktop visual communications experience, both on traditional and/or virtual infrastructures. Our portfolio now includes three unique solutions that use software standards and creativity to unify and extend the desktop videoconferencing experience for Lotus Sametime users.”

In a second announcement, Avistar launched the Avistar C3 Unified™ for Microsoft Lync solution. This solution enables Microsoft Lync users to enjoy desktop videoconferencing that supports industry standards and leverages and extends unified communications (UC) features found within Microsoft Lync, while promoting greater UC adoption.

The Avistar C3 Unified for Microsoft Lync solution increases communication and productivity by connecting all videoconferencing assets, and extends the videoconferencing reach of Microsoft Lync to room-based solutions from the desktop. It also delivers continuous presence multiparty videoconferencing and supports VDI implementations of Microsoft Lync that can be fully video-enabled, while extending advanced bandwidth management capabilities over the corporate network.

Epstein added: “The European market has been an important focus of Avistar for many years, with our positioning aided in particular by the rise in desktop videoconferencing and the demands of our clients within this market. Avistar delivers a high quality, all-software desktop videoconferencing portfolio on industry-leading platforms, including Microsoft Lync. From international financial services powerhouses featuring 30,000+ Avistar desktop videoconferencing seats, to smaller clients that need to connect more effectively when traveling while better supporting remote users, European businesses have come to rely on Avistar to deliver scalable and standards-based desktop videoconferencing solutions that are easy to manage and even easier to afford. .”
